Awesome Indian food! Have been here only twice, but can tell you it is good. The chicken tikka masala is great, as well as the lamb korma kashmiri. Don't go without getting some naan bread, I like the garlic one, but recommend you skip that flavor if you are on a date. It is new, so bring your own alcohol is still in effect until a license is issued. Honeygo Wine and Spirits is right across the street, and is the best liquor store hands down around for beer, wine and spirits. Haven't had it yet, but heard about the lunch buffet. Sounds perfect for sampling all of the popular dishes, and not too much money. A thing I like is they let you pick your spicy level from 1-10 on applicable dishes, so if you like it spicy, go 10, not so much, 1. Service has been great, they are friendly and ready to help make recommendations to those new to the cuisine.

I bought a Living Social coupon for this place figuring it would be nice to try it out when I go to the mall or movies at White Marsh... I was in the area and wanted to use the deal, so I called to see if I could come in. The person that answered the phone was extremely rude and said something along the lines of "we only accept those during the week". Unfortunately I am only in that area with friends on the weekends, and so there is no way I would ever be able to use the deal during the week. I called Living Social because it did not indicate that it was only good during the week on the deal. They in turn called the restaurant and the restaurant retracted their statement. However, I would not give this place my business after I was treated like a second class citizen. So just ate the $15 I spent on the deal. Bad business.

Amazing! Flavors are spot on... not to heavy but surely intense Indian... I have been twice for buffet and once for dinner, never a let down and will surely return!

It's places like this that make me think I might be doing it wrong. I spend a crap-ton of money on housing to live in a walkable, convenient neighborhood close to DC - convenient to the Metro and downtown as well as central Bethesda. And it's that last that bit that, in juxtaposition with this place, and its surroundings, that makes me wonder. Out in the middle of a very nice shopping center, surrounded by very nice townhouses, not more than a few minutes walk from parks and schools, but then beyond that, near nothing at all, sits a really good Indian restaurant. Oh, right, yes, you should go there and eat. The point, though, is that I'm starting to wonder if I should both save money, and live nearer to the places that I really want to go eat, at.

I'm usually moderately skeptical to eat Indian food out, and for good reason I think. Bombay Nights is different. You aren't going to find mystery meat, with greasy sauces or rank ingredients here. I dined at Bombay Nights for a party, in which the hosts ordered a variety of dishes in a buffet-type setting. We started with the samosas which were crispy, large pyramid shaped deliciousness. They weren't greasy at all and paired perfectly with the three sauces that were initially put on our table. Next was some kind of garden salad with a tandoori-style chicken - also good, but a bit overly dressed. The highlights were the curried vegetables (cauliflower and potatoes), the amazing white meat butter chicken and the roasted lamb with spinach. The butter chicken came in that glowing orange sauce that most of us are used to but was absolutely delicious. The sauce was rich and fragrant, while the chicken was cooked nicely. The best meal of the night was the lamb in saag. It featured slow-cooked lamb in a large helping of sautéed saag. While the saag could not look less appealing, it was amazing. It had that perfect smokiness and a small kick to go with it. The meal was finished with gulab jamun and rice pudding. Anyone not familiar with gulab jamun, it's the sweet fried doughy balls drenched in a sweet sauce, they were awesome. I only had a small taste of the rice pudding but remember liking it, despite the runny consistency. In short, eat at Bombay Nights, it was awesome.

The food is always as enjoyable as the staff. Please try the coconut shrimp! Chicken saagwala is delicious. The naan with hummus if you're a veggie.

Explosions of flavor... that is what Indian food is known for and that is what Bombay Nights delivers. I was quite happy with the selection of the Northern Indian cuisine- I even saw some Goan specialities (Vindaloo - the spicy vinegary Portuguese inspired dish). Food: Delicious as always. The spiciness could be taken up to authentic levels if requested - They let you pick your spicy scale from 1-10. I had the Chicken Kadhai 7 spicy level... it was good, but the onions were practically raw in the dish. Service: Friendly, polite, warm, but not always attentive. We asked for some tea, but it never came until the meal came. I imagine they were busy with birthday singing but still..... Other than that one little item, they were on-point: offering suggestions and provide in-depth explanations. Decor: Better than I have seen in most Indian restaurants. They have various richly colored sheer fabrics on the windows and dark booths. BYOB - so it is perfect for keeping the bill down =) Try it out! =)

I've only gotten takeout here. When I picked up my order, I was a bit shocked at how much my bill ended up totaling. I changed my mind when I got home and saw the large amount of food in my bag! First, I had gotten samosas. They were good sized and well flavored. Second, I got garlic naan. This was somewhat of a disappointment. The naan was kind of flat and not as "poofy" as I like. It also wasn't too flavorful. However, my last dish was the bombay chicken tikka. Oh my goodness. The chicken was high quality, the flavoring was amazing, and the yogurt sauce they gave me for it was DELICIOUS. They also gave me a side of jasmine rice. I've heard from friends that they have a great lunch buffet that's incredibly reasonably priced for the options on the menu. So I would recommend checking that out or getting dinner here sometime and skipping the naan.

Excellent, food is fresh (no stale made yesterday taste ... too common with Indian), excellent buffet. Even the Nan is fresh. Not only a fine Indian restaurant, but, by far, the best of any category restaurant in the mediocre "Honeygo Center" bleak restaurant scene: Liberatore's Ristorante - mediocre Italian with a price above its value. Chopstix - Chinese that claims to serve Japanese. Should have gone to Wendy's! The Manhattan Grill - microwave central, commercial sandwich bread, not fresh. Manhattan ...really? Cousins Cafe - Good value for its class (Diner).

Have gone back 2 more times now. I got the lunch buffet once (which is a great deal at about $12 a person) and dinner the second time. For dinner, we did the tasting menu along with ordering some other dishes to satisfy the 4 of us. Well, the tasting menu would probably have been enough because we had leftovers for 2 people! We got the "meat" one along with butter chicken (yum!!) and one of the other veggie dishes we wanted to try. So much food and brought out in a fairly reasonable pace. The only downside is it's a little slow because I think the help is a little light for the number of people and the amount of food being prepared. I had to wait a while to get my water refilled because the water person was also busy cleaning tables and setting up for other people. If they had at least one extra person it would make a big difference. I definitely recommend coming here, even if you haven't had Indian food before. The buffet or tasting menu give you chances to explore. I am still confused by the crunchy naan-like bread they have out at the beginning of the dinners, though.

Ok ill start by saying I have come to this place since it opened. I've loved it ever since, however it's been months since my last visit. Things have changed. I'm assuming the ownership has changed as they always seem to do in places like this. For the good. Restaraunt was clean , friendly attentive service , and fair prices. The bad. The food quality and flavor is not what it used to be. I got the lamb vindaloo as always and now it seems like its just lamb meat in a not spicy enough bland tomato soup... They need to dust off the old recipe book because that's what made me a return customer.

Went here on a rainy Saturday afternoon for the lunch Buffet. So atmopshere and mood were perfect to chow down on some hearty indian food! The buffet was pretty good. There were some things that I was missing (samosas, palak paneer) but I assume every week it's a little different. They had a great cream corn soup and great desserts. At about $12/person you can not go wrong! I really want to come here for dinner on a weekend night because the decor is lovely and I would love to the restaurant be packed. Will come back again for a night in Bombay!

  • Jaime V.

This was my first time having Indian food and it was a great experience here! The hummus was great, all 3 of the entrees ordered at the table were great (chicken masala, shrimp/rice casserole) and the rice pudding was amazing! I highly recommend the cheese naan. They let you adjust your spiciness level on a scale of 1-10 so you have total control of how hot or mild your food is. It's BYOB so stop at a liquor store on your way, or there is one right on Honeygo. Yum!

I am a sucker for Indian food and this place has some very good dishes. One of the very distinct things that make this restaurant stand out is the fact that it focuses on a region of India rather than the "normal" Indian dishes you see on a menu. The Northern menu is unique and this place represents it well. "The Good" -The buffet is very good and offers you the chance to try something new as it is not always the same. -The naan, and the other breads are great. "The Meh" I always try and order something that I never had before. I tried the coconut soup and it was OK. My socks were not blown off. Not saying it was bad or anything but it has a unique taste that I did not care for, but you could always give it a go for yourself. "The Bad" -The fact that I no longer live in Maryland...

  • Frank N.

We came for a Buffet lunch on New Years Eve. The service was very friendly and warm. Offers of fresh Nan kept coming from the waitstaff..... The buffet is small in size and variety, but the quality of the food is very high. The recipes lean toward some Afghan and Persian influence more than other Indian restaurants. I got the impression that they rotate the buffet dishes often. I'll be back. This place is delicious and a good value.

*UPDATE - initial review 10/2011* Bombay Nights is still our #1 goto for Indian food in Baltimore. Unfortunately we moved, not too far, but still farther away and getting to Bombay Nights isn't as convenient but still well worth the effort. The staff and service is still top notch and the food is excellent. My Lamb Korma was very tender and mild but full of flavor. The garlic naan is soft and flavorful with just the right amount of charred crispiness to it. The wife's chicken tikka was great as usual and our friend had the lamb chop tikka which he greatly enjoyed. I've never been to India and all my Indian friends don't live in town so I don't have any "experts" to rely on but after I leave Bombay Nights I'm quite full and very happy.

My husband and I were driving home from AC and were searching yelp for a place to eat. We finally decided on having the lunch buffet here... I'm definitely glad we stopped and we will make it a "regular" on our way home. When you first walk in, I thought the buffet would be slim picking. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised. They had a large selection and the qualify was top notch. By far the best foods were the vegetable dishes. Since I don't know all the names of the dishes, I would highly recommend this place and will visit again.

My husband and I went to Bombay nights for dinner and we had an awesome time. The service was excellent and the food was good. I especially enjoyed the mango smoothie and the garlic naan bread. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Incredible service, incredible atmosphere, incredible food, incredible everything. Me and my father are regulars and have never been once disappointed with any of our visits to this restaurant. Tell 2 friends and make sure they tell 2 friends and so on and so forth. This place is as legit as any restaurant in any category.

Wonderful food and wonderful service. Took my boyfriend here to experience Indian food for the first time and he loved it. This place is the only place we go when craving Indian food!!

  • Joanna B.

I was visiting a friend in the area and we wanted Indian food. Yelp reviewers seem to like it here, so we gave it a try. It was a Sunday around lunchtime and the buffet was in full swing. Tons of options and I was intrigued by the "salad" selections but both times I went to get some the containers were empty. I thought the food was bland in comparison to what I've had elsewhere. I wouldn't go back personally. Service was ok except the waiter asked twice if he could take my plate and I wasn't done. I'm not that slow of an eater......

  • Brooke B.

This was a pretty good place. The food was made with "heart" and the chef came and talked to us. I think he takes pride in his food and wants to make the best for his customers. My only complaints, no tofu on the menu (and that's probably because of the region) and they cleaned the table next to us with some kind of ammonia/windex spray. The fumes were pretty nauseous next to our food. I told them about it, so it may not be an issue anymore. Give this place a try, they have belly dancing on Fridays and a buffet during lunch.

The ambience was lovely, low-lighting and soft music. There were a good number of other customers but it didn't feel packed and we got a seat right away. The table was set and the water was filled before we sat down. Our waitstaff changed throughout the night, we never seemed to have a dedicated waiter, but they were all very attentive, so no problem. We had chicken pakora to start. It's basically battered chicken nuggets, a little hard to screw up, so it was fine. That said, it wasn't impressive. My date had the chicken tikka masala, which he enjoyed. I had the lamb saag. The flavors were delicious, although the lamb was a little tough. Also, the rice wasn't seasoned at all. Maybe it's just personal preference, but I like maybe some spices or vegetables scattered in there. For dessert I had gulab jamun. I've never had it before, so I don't know how it compares, but it was pretty tasty (if not a little cloyingly sweet). A little goes a long way. My boyfriend had the cheesecake, which was clearly not homemade, but he enjoyed it anyway. The chef drew cute little faces on our plates, which was a nice, fun touch for the end of the night. As it's very near my home, I'll definitely come back some time, but there's probably better Indian if you search a little further out.

Had the lunch buffet here. Excellent. Probably the best Indian I have had in my brief stint in MD. You can't beat the price either. It is under 10 bucks. Not much else you can say about a buffet, other than check it out. It is clean and the service was very good.

Nice, tasty and authentic Indian food. Ragraa Patties, Butter Paneer Masala, Biryani and Tandoori Vegetables are our all time favorites :-)

  • Jennifer T.

First time trying Bombay Nights and Indian food in general. Very delicious food, friendly staff and nice interior. We ordered the ragraa patties as an appetizer. It was amazingly delicious and a large size for just the two of us. We ordered two entrees and garlic naan to share. To our surprise our meal ended with a bite size doughnut like dessert. We will be returning when in the mood for something a little different.

I love it here. I go here often. The tasting menu is amazing. For ~$25 per person, you get a 5 course meal with an enormous amount of food. My favorite is the Meat, but I've had the seafood, and that is delicious as well. The BEST Palak Paneer I've ever had. The BYOB is nice too.

  • Den F.

Came back to try their lunch buffet on 2 separate occasions. They change their selections, which is a nice mix. However, I liked the choices from the first visit much better than the 2nd. Both times there were salad, a kind of soup, basmati rice and chicken tandoori. The different meats, vegetables, and dessert changed. All in all, the food was decent, but it didn't wow me and was not as memorable like the dinner was.

  • Ernie B.

Excellent experience. Birthday dinner party of 12 and we opted for the dinner buffet. They had all the favorites and side dishes. Great price for delicious dinner buffet is worth the stop. It's BYOB which was great especially considering the liquor store across the street has a sweet selection. Friendly and attentive staff often checked in on naan and water refills. It was my wife's birthday so they played her the birthday song and gave her some sweet Aladdin threads which made for a memorable photo session. Authentic music and atmosphere in an intimate setting with delicious food and great service all for a great price...we will definitely be back!!

I love having Indian food close to home. Everything here is great, and they are also on restaurant.com so you can always get a coupon for $25 off your meal for anywhere from 2-4 bucks. (They are usually on sale). The service is great, the food is tasty, the decor is really nice. I've been probably 10 times so far.

Coming from India, I know what authentic Indian food tastes like. This place doesn't even come close to that. Let go the food even the ambiance is some middle eastern theme and not Indian. To top it all The complimentary salad which was served was also stale.

I *LOVE* Bombay Nights!! The food is excellent! Service is wonderful. The food on the lunch buffet is excellent. But give yourself a treat, and go for dinner. The best! Every dish is delightfully seasoned, portions are generous. The service is great. Also, call ahead if you have special dietary concerns. They pride themselves on also being gluten free when needed (obviously the naan isn't, but you can have papadums which are made with lentil flour) ~ I went once for a birthday, called in advance. They even made a special corn bread for me (I have to eat GF). Selections are great. I eat mainly veg, but have seen satisfied customers of all diet varieties. Have tried some fish & chicken off the buffet, and it was excellent. What a treat to have such a GREAT Indian restaurant tucked away in Perry Hall! This one is worth the drive from the city ~

Probably one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. The service was awesome too. I will definitely go to this place again next time I'm passing through Perry Hall.

Came back in again, and this time requested no fresh cilantro on an entree. Again, the entree arrived with a huge heaping pile of cilantro on it. Really?? No one seems to know what "no cilantro" means!

I LOVE this place. My wife worked at an Indian restaurant for years and she tells me she wishes it was here as the food is so much better! Great prices, great food, super nice staff and they always help us tailor the food for my whole family as we all like different levels of spice. Really a great place.

Like the other poster, thank god for an Indian restaurant in my neck of the woods. In a place that used to be Cheeburger Cheeburger!, they certainly livened things up a bit with ambient lighting, rich colors, and beautiful fabrics. They even added in a very comfortable waiting area. Big difference from a place that used to have pictures of big fat eaters who ate the big fat burger plastered to the wall. The service is very good and they seem to be drawing a lot of business. The lunch buffet was pretty good and reasonably priced. I got there toward the end of the buffet so I was disappointed that things seemed mostly picked over--meaning to say that there was lots of sauce left but few pieces of vegetables, and the salad was a little hatter scatter by the time I got to it. Oh well, I'll go earlier next time. A dinner I had there was unlike any dinner I've had before: Tandoori grilled potatoes and cauliflower. It was a special that evening. It was not greasy or oily, and it was perfectly flavored and healthy to boot. I can't wait to go back and I think it will answer the call of many nights when I just don't feel like cooking. They have an extensive menu as well as an Indo-Chinese section. There are just so many things to try!

Aaaahhhhhhh, its amazing how good it feels to have this place open up near me!! Before today i had to drive about a half hour away just to get decent Indian food. I've been to pretty much every Indian restaurant within an hours drive of Baltimore, not to mention other cities over time. This place is as good, if not better, than any of them. The flavors were powerful, the sauces were rich, and the prices were very reasonable. And best of all they specifically ask you, on a scale of 1-10, how spicy you want your food. Very accommodating. I was also really impressed by the atmosphere. Everything is brand new, and they did a very good job with the decor. BYOB, and conveniently there is a wine store across the street. I could write a poem about the Butter Chicken, but i won't. Ok, yes i will. Butter chicken, You're so great, I really want you, On my plate, Rich and creamy, Yes you are, I'd even eat you, In my car, I prefer you at, Spice level 7, And Naan just like, A cloud in Heaven, Butter Chicken, You made my day, I'll see you tommorrow, At the buffet. Thank you, thank you. No need for applause. Just my heartfelt feelings about the Butter Chicken. Yes i know, i'm a great poetic talent. Call my agent for parties and weddings.

Great food. Great service. We will go back again soon. We order the butter chicken as per suggestions on here. We got it medium spice. I like spicy food and medium was perfect. Had a little kick but did not interrupt the flavor. We also orders shrimp saag which was not on the menu. It is my personal favorite and they did it very well. I did think the hummus was too "thin" and lacked flavor but I do not usually get hummus at an Indian restaurant anyway.

I went here last year for the lunch buffet. Its a lovely, clean restaurant with okay service. I was annoyed that all their dishes were chicken based. I don't expect beef... duh... but there was not even one lamb or goat dish. Anyways, the food was good.

This is an amazing restaurant we are so lucky to have in Perry Hall! The chicken tikka masala is among the best I've ever tasted. The lamb kabobs are also very delicious. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the service is always very good. Bombay Nights also has excellent deserts. For kids, there is a children's menu (my son loves the kid's honey shrimp). There is also a special tasting menu if you have time that allows you to sample several dishes. They don't have a liquor license but that isn't a big deal as they allow you to BYOB and there is a very nice liquor store across the street with a nice selection of chilled beers and wine. On Friday nights they have belly dancers. I either dine at or get carry-out from this restaurant at least once per week.

Visiting Bombay Nights for the first time was a big smile for me. The flavors are exceptional and the vegetarian selection is greater than most Baltimore restaurants. They are not limited to vegetarian. This is nice spot to bring your own bottle of wine or beer. I haven't been to the Sunday Tea but it sounds intriguing.

We order carry out from them and the food is great. The hummus is addictive and must be made from rainbows and angel tears because it is so good. I love the spice in the food and the portions are large. I have never eaten in there, but service has always been friendly when I came to pick up the food. When I was living in Abingdon we also ordered frequently from the Kabob Factory and the food was equally as good. I am not a fan of strong curry smells and taste, and they have plenty of options for me that are delicious and to my liking.

Wow!!! Bombay nights has some of the most amazing Indian food! Try the butter chicken (sounds terrible, but it's so good!), vindaloo, eggplant dish, and garlic naan. The service is also fantastic. Go to Bombay Nights; you won't be disappointed.

On a recent visit from Seattle to Perry Hall, Maryland, I decided to visit Bombay Nights, since its cuisine is a departure from its neighboring restaurants. From the minute I walked in the door, I was made to feel like family. The only thing that compared to the stellar service was the food itself. I don't purport to be an Indian food expert, but I appreciate good- tasting food; and there was so much of it. I had enough food for two people (note to self: the tasting menu is for two), but I was glad to take home many doggy bags, as that simply meant that I would have enough food from Bombay Nights to last me for the duration of my Maryland stay. Thank you, Chef Neel. Indeed, you made this a "Bombay Night" to remember!

Went for lunch buffet. We loved it! Foods were delicious and varied. It allowed us to try many different dishes. We tried to do the "check in" for the discount but were told it only applies to the dinner menu. No worries... for 10.00$ this was a wonderful meal! We will be back! Highly recommended.

Came here many times over the past few years and is always treated well. The good is great. My favorite is always the Paneer Tikka. It's always made with the best homemade paneer and vegetables. Food was very good. And buffet was fresh, clean and well stocked. The waiter was attentive. The best part was that I dropped my wallet by the table and the employees spent over two days to try to locate me. I commend Navneet and the waiter (who I didn't get his name) for so diligently searching for me to return my wallet. Two thumbs up for service! I do miss the old decorations though. The new mural on the wall is pretty though.

I was running errands in the area last night and mentioned to my sister that I had been craving Indian food all day. She recommended that we go to one of her favorite local spots for dinner. When I first arrived I was admittedly apprehensive.... there are so many authentic looking Indian restaurants nearby, and from the outside this looks like a very Americanized suburban spot. In actuality, it was very nice inside, very clean, the décor was not over the top, and most importantly the food was GREAT! We started with an appetizer of vegetable pakoras, which are vegetable dumplings dipped in chick peas, flour and batter and then fried. They're kind of like a cross between a vegetable samosa and a hush puppy. For $5 we got 6 pakoras, and they came out fresh and piping hot! They had a nice flavor on their own, but dipped into the mixture of papadum sauces it was even better. As someone who almost always sticks with ordering vegetable samosas, I have been converted. If you're okay with something a little bit fried, pakoras are the way to go! For our entrée we both ordered chicken tikka masala, which came with rice for the table to share. They did a really nice job with this, as well. The sauce was flavorful, it was the right consistency, and the portion was huge so I had plenty of leftovers! The only slight criticism I have is that some of the chicken was on the dry side, but I find that to be true of a lot of Indian dishes and it didn't really take away from the meal. We also ordered garlic naan, which came with 4 pieces and was divine. The garlic was not like the little hint of garlic flavor you may find at other restaurants. This was fresh, breath destroying garlic and it was oh so good! The bread was also very soft, which is my preference. I hate when naan comes out burnt or too crispy!!! Naan, in my un-expert opinion, should be soft and pillowy and perfect for scooping up some rice with tikka masala sauce. And, last but not least, the mango lassi. It was delicious, sweet, filling, and very thick. I have ordered lassis before that resemble more of a smoothie, which isn't right. This really tasted homemade. The service was wonderful and fast. The waitstaff seemed to take everything pretty seriously, which is probably why my dumb joke about smoothies aspiring to be lassis fell flat.... (yeah just let it happen). It's clear that they take a lot of pride in their restaurant and their food. The portions were across the board big, so I couldn't even think about dessert (even though I walked in fully intending to try some gulab jamun). Overall just a really, really good dining experience. The next time I am back in the area I would absolutely consider coming back for dinner to try even more from the menu, because I have no doubt that it would be fantastic!

Delicious buffet with tons of options for lunch. Wish they had a dinner buffet too, but the dinner menu items are also good. I love the butter chicken!

Great Indian restaurant. It is worthwhile to check out if you are in white marsh area. We got a prefix menu for 2 non-vegetarians and it was enough food to feed almost 4. The staff was friendly.

Went to Bombay Nights after a long and enjoyed the food. It seems the management has changed again at this restaurant and this time for better. Will go back again

Last Baltimore review! Nice, quiet and lovely atmosphere. When we first arrived, I checked into this restaurant on Yelp and received a 15% off the entire bill coupon which I used on the spot... What a great welcome! As per usual when I go to an Indian restaurant, I ordered a mango lassi... This was presented to me in a nice large cup with a pretty streak of red down the sides. It tasted wonderful -- Slightly sweet, incredibly refreshing, extremely mango-y. For my main course, I chose the Bombay Nights Kabobs Platter (listed in the appetizer section). This came with chicken tikka, chicken and lamb seekh kabobs, and tandoori shrimp. Much to my delight, this came on a sizzling hot platter with onions and peppers. And it was A LOT of food. I wasn't a big fan of the kebobs, but I really enjoyed the chicken tikka and shrimp (only got one though). The chicken and shrimp had plenty of delicious flavor and I let the veggies cook a little on the plate to give it a slightly smoky charred taste. Very nice meal and good service.

This place is fantastic. They have great food and has a great ambience. It's also BYOB so you can leave dinner in relatively good shape wallet-wise. They've got a large menu with pretty much all of the basics you could want out of an Indian restaurant. Their samosas and papad are great. We LOVE their kashmiri naan. I generally get the lamb vindaloo, chicken korma, and recently enjoyed shrimp masala. My fiance almost always get the chicken tikka (the grilled kind) and it always comes out sizzling. The service is attentive and friendly. We've never had a bad experience here and get excited when we settle on Indian for dinner.

This place is thee best Indian food around town. We've come here religiously for the last two years or so and haven't been disappointed once. The food is always fresh, the naan always comes out piping hot and crispy in some crevices and chewy in others. We've had the palak paneer, lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka, and many more. Their rice pudding is on point too. The servers are attentive and cordial. The prices can be kinda steep for dinner, so we usually head for the lunch buffet on the weekends.

Went to Bombay Nights for a birthday celebration. We decided to take advantage of their BYOB policy too. We ordered the samosas for appetizers which were great. They had a good chickpea and potato flavor and the drizzle of sauce was tasty. For the main course we had chicken tikka masala and butter masala. Both were so yummy. The wait staff is so accommodating. They brought wine glasses, opened our wine and poured it for us. They didn't charge an uncorking fee either. They make sure your water is always filled and brought more rice without us having to ask. We felt at we were treated like royalty. We will be going back very soon.

In all honesty, I completely forgot my horrible experience here. Hey, I'm not one to hold a grudge! We came here with a party of 13 for Mother's Day last month, and they really went out of their way to make it a wonderful experience! We have 6 kids under 11, and my sister has 2 teens, plus my parents, and everyone found something to love at the buffet. The restaurant even gave out wrapped Mother's Day gifts to each guest! My favorites: Chicken Tikka Masala (always on point!) - just the perfect blend of creamy/spicy (but not too spicy, even for the kids) deliciousness Green curry fish - buttery, sweet, creamy heaven! Hummus (I'm sure that's not the Indian name, but it's ground chick peas, so I'll call it hummus) - thinner than normal hummus, but there is just something about it that keeps me going back for more! And I don't like hummus! I don't know what the little fried triangle puffs are at the buffet, but they're perfect for dipping! Naan - just keep it coming! My kids think it's Indian pizza There are so many more scrumptious options, but those are my favorites. The rice is always perfectly cooked and never runs out. The buffet also had a freshly carved watermelon full of fruit salad, and some desserts, which the rest of my family loved. My only complaint - I wish I had more room in my stomach to eat more!!

I took my mom here for her birthday. I was blown away by this gem. The ambience and decor are inviting and warm and the restaurant isn't terribly noisy so you can carry on a conversation. It would also make for a romantic date location--if your date isn't too self conscious to eat Indian. At any rate, from the moment we walked through the door we were treated promptly and happily. The servers and busboys were recently attentive and no one at the table ever needed to worry about an empty glass. The food was a delight! The lamb masala was tender and delectable, the chicken masala holds its own against any you'll have in the region, and the tandoori chicken is magnificent. It's tender, flavorful and perfectly grilled without being overly dry. It may be the best tandoori I've ever had. Furthermore, the portions are very generous. The half-sized tandoori could have fed three people! Also, be certain to try the mango lassi. It's has to be in the top three I've had in the DMV. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting again.

This place has it. A nice looking restaurant that is clean, superior service and the food to go with it. I cannot recall the name of my dish, but it was chicken and potato in a tomato base curry sauce with rice. I felt as though my dish could have had more meat but that was probably because it was so good. I ordered my food very spicey and it could have been spicier. Next time I will get Indian spicey. Also, they have a lunch buffet that I want to try.

I really like this place. The space is very pretty. The chicken vindaloo is delicious, level 10 on the spice-o-meter (the DBF and I like it hot hot hot), but note that the degree of heat seems to vary by whom is doing the cooking. The chicken korma kashmiri is great too, fruity and creamy and different from anywhere else that I have had it. The chili naan is almost as good as Saffron in VA Beach, and it is by far the best around Balto. The staff here is very friendly and attentive, they really make you feel comfortable and welcome. **And psst fellow Yelpers, when you check in there is a coupon for 10% off your bill!** I knocked a star only because the portions are pretty small for the price by comparison to other places in the area, but the quality of the food is worth coming back for.

  • Jeffrey H.

Tasty Indian food, and a good choice for Indian if you are in the White Marsh area. The prices are higher and the portions smaller than other Indian restaurants of similar quality in greater Baltimore (hence the three star rating), but certainly not disappointing.

Food: 4 Stars Service: 5 Stars Ambiance: 3 Stars I've been to Bombay Nights a few times over the years and I've never had a bad meal. On this trip we started with veggie pakora and coconut shrimp, had lamb korma and chicken tikka masala for entrees, and ordered sides of garlic and rosemary naan. The pakora was delicous: well balanced and perfectly seasoned. The sweetness of the coconut shrimp was a little overpowering and the ratio of sauce to shrimp was way out of proportion. The overall effect was a heavy mess that wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't order again. Korma is a great dish for those who want the flavor profile of Indian cuisine but aren't a fan of too much heat. This particular korma was executed perfectly with all the flavors you want and just enough spice to make you perspire ever so slightly. The tikka masala was again executed perfectly with a bit more kick. The meat in both dishes was tender and delicious. The rice was cooked to perfection. Though, in an Indian restaurant, I'd be concerned if it weren't. The flavor of the naan was on point. I've never had rosemary naan before and was pleasantly surprised. My only complaint was the naan is more dense and flat than I'm used to. Naan at other Indian restaurants is a touch more airy with a bit of volume. We still ate every piece and I would be happy to order it again, and maybe try some of the other flavors. The ambiance was OK. For the price point and superior quality of the food, I'm not too worried about the decor. You can tell they put some effort into making the main dining room appealing, but made some tacky choices (fake fire torch lights, for instance). Also, while aesthetically appealing, a few flat pillows against a hard wall isn't a substitute for a chair. Also, the bathroom reminded me of an (old) Wal-Mart. But again, for the price and quality of food, who cares? Last, but certainly not least, the service was outstanding. We had a primary server, but there was a constant stream of people including hosts, bussers, food runners, and managers. Everyone was extremely polite, knowledgable, and our drinks were refilled and plates cleared within seconds of being empty. All this was accomplished without hovering or being pesky. Whoever manages the staff clearly brings their a-game. Overall, I will gladly return for another meal. I had a great time without having to trek into the city.

Everything I've had here is good and the service has been pretty consistent -- they're attentive and timely. They always recommend a dish per person but I find the servings pretty healthy and after my mango lassi and some naan, one main dish seems to be perfect for two. Whenever we do more than that we always end up with leftovers...which isn't a bad thing. My faves here are the masala tea, mango lassi, palak paneer, butter chicken, and chicken tikka masala. The rice pudding and kulfi are also very yummy!

  • Kirk S.

We ate here on a whim, and it was pretty decent. The ambiance is nice and cozy, so no complaints there. The chicken tikka masala was tasty, but not exactly mind-blowing. Ditto for the naan and other dishes - nothing was amazing, but nothing was bad. The only main complaint we had was that the waiters kept asking to clear our table - I'm not sure why they were so aggressive, but it really put a damper on the night.

Hummus with the nann vread is amazing. Hands down best hummus Ive had in a long time. Tiki Masala and Chicken vindaloo are always my go to but im never disappointed if i order something diffrent. Also dont forget to try the mango lassie!

Holy Indian Food! Wow. So good. I can't even think of words to write this review because this food was so tasty! We ordered take-out on a Sunday evening, the place was empty but that made our order ready super fast! I loved the interior of the place, it was overwhelmingly Indian, in a good way! First, cheese nan. You just can't go wrong with that- simply delish. The chicken tikka masala (not spicy because I'm a wimp) was sooooo good! Just the right amount of veggies and chicken, a perfectly seasoned sauce, and the chicken wasn't dry in the least! My aunt and uncle got a spicy tikka masala and spicy vindaloo which they devoured- and my uncle said he didn't want Indian that night! pshh ;) Everything, down to the jasmine(?) rice was fantastic. I wish I lived closer to this spot!

Came for $12 lunch buffet on a Sunday. It was good, not mind blowing. They do not honor the 15% yelp discount even though it says dine in they say it's not for the buffet. The malai kofta and aloo gosh were good. Chicken tikka Masala was flavorless. Chicken tikka was dry. Naan was good. Desserts were not. I love kheer and this one was very disappointing.. way too much rice and not much flavor. Would not rush to return... only if I was in the area, craving Indian food and nothing else was nearby.

There isn't much that differentiates itself from it's counterparts, however, they're still damn good. I've ordered delivery from them a few times and was never disappointed. Sounds cliche I know but it's true. What I do like about this place is that whatever dish you get with sauce, they fill up the container to the top with sauce. Some of you may not like that and I'd understand if you especially don't like how watery the sauce is, which really it's only a tad bit watery. But I like that, especially when you dip the Garlic Naan into the dish then devouring that piece, melting in your mouth then dump all that delicious jasmine rice into the dish, soaking up all that sauce for extra flavor. I got their Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Vindaloo, Garlic Naan, Gulab Jamun and Goat Curry. All were fantastic.

Really nice Indian spot! We ate during lunch hours and went with the buffet. I'm a big curry fan and Bombay offered some really yummy options. I enjoyed everything on the buffet. A nice combination of fresh salads, veggies, fresh naan, simmered curry dishes, vegetarian sides, and desserts. The service was also very good. If you're in the Perry Hall area and craving some curry, you'd be happy with this place.

I'm not sure why it took so long to write a review on this place. I've been coming here since it opened. I've tried most of the Indian/Nepalese restaurants in the Baltimore Washington area and this is tied for my number 1 with Royal Taj. My go to dish is the lamb chop masala. It's two lamb chops seasoned with their amazing masala and drowned in the tikka sauce. I normally ask for the highest spicy level they have; fifteen, I believe. The combination of the heat and flavors are enough to make you look like Adam Richman after a bite of anything. The korma and the butter chicken are also favorites in my household. No matter the curry, they should always be accompanied with Garlic Naan. I normally order two for myself. The facility itself is extremely clean and decorated above the standard of an indian restaurant. They have a semi secluded room for intimate gatherings, I actually held my wedding dinner there. It could be used for a small office get together or the like. The owners are extremely friendly and quick to attend to your every need. In closing, I would recommend if you are into indian food. If you're not into indian food, I would HIGHLY recommend coming here. It might change your mind.

I was desperate for Indian food. Everything was good, the wait time for someone to take your drink order was long, but when they got there to take our order we were able to order drinks and our food. Nice place, close to our house. Will be going back for sure.

I'm lucky enough to have this as my local indian spot. All around the best indian food I've ever had. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is friendly. It's a nice place to eat in and you can BYOB too. My go to is the Chicken Tikka Masala and my wife's favorite is the Lamb Rogan Josh. We usually start out with the veggie pakoras which are awesome. And of course you have to get naan. I've never had a less than awesome meal here. In fact, every time I go it gets better. Last time we went, we got free desert :)

I came here for take-out, and was glad to find that staff does not forget its take-out customers, as sometimes happens. The guy who took my order was helpful with opinions about which dishes he liked better when asked. When I came back to pick up my food, they told me it would just be a few minutes, rather than ignoring my presence and/or making me ask first. In the course of random small talk, another guy told me about the lunch buffet (11:30am - 2:00pm, I think). Since I haven't been in Baltimore for very long, and will be leaving in just a few more months, I'm on a spree to check out as many different places as I can. If I weren't, based on the service and food flavors here, I'd be willing to come back to try it. I will say that the food took longer than the original 15 minutes quoted to me (closer to half an hour). I don't mind being told a longer wait from the very beginning, nor do I generally mind waiting when I have nothing to do, but I was hangry, having just finished working out. The smells wafting by as I was waiting did not help. Uncivilized human being that I was, I tore into the garlic naan while I was still driving. My order consisted of lamb biryani, mango curry chicken, 2 garlic naan, pistachio kulfi, malai kulfi, and 2 masala chai. For the most part, flavors were good. The exceptions were the pistachio kulfi (and not just because it's not at all like the stuff I am used to) and the masala chai, which tasted like regular milk tea, sans spices. (Note: I was told that the malai kulfi was a coconut-y vanilla. It's not. I think it's a milk / cream + cardamom combination.) The malai kulfi and mango curry chicken flavors were a hit with my husband especially. Texture seems to be less consistent than the flavors. The chicken was super dry. Lamb was better. Rice was on the harder side. Both kulfi were icy, not creamy, perhaps because of how they were stored (super-frozen when I got them and still rock-hard after a 20-minute drive in which I put the food in the front passenger seat and had the heater on). Garlic naan was pleasantly soft and fluffy, with some crispy bits. Biggest con is the price. It's not the hole-in-the-wall Indian places I tend to frequent, but I still felt that $60 was a bit much, especially as take-out. I give the food 3.5 stars, but rounded it up to 4 for service.

  • Rachel K.

Great food in a lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend the chicken vindaloo with garlic naan. All dishes are spiced to order so don't be afraid to order traditionaly spicy dishes. Bombay is a great place for a first date. Order two entrees and split them. It's so cozy inside that you'll forget you're in a shopping center.

Absolutely delicious! My husband and I shared the vegetable samosas, coconut shrimp, garlic naan, Bombay chicken curry, and Bombay chicken tikka with hummus. Obviously, we ended taking some home because the portions are large! Food was cooked perfectly and well seasoned, and the service was wonderful. Be advised: there are not free refills on soft drinks or tea! However, they keep the water glasses full. We used a groupon and will definitely be back. The food offered is well worth what they charge!

I love this place. Everything I've tried is delicious. I've done the buffet, and come for dinner. The staff is friendly, and if you'd like to go into a carb coma, order the basket of assorted naan. You'll thank me later. I can't even recommend one thing to try, I've never had anything bad, it's my go to when I'm in the area.

The food was wonderful! The service was five stars. Cheers to the decorator. You can tell they put a lot of love into this place. The Chicken Tikki Masala was amazing... but doesn't hold a candle to the Lamb Seekh Kabab get it with the cucumber sauce and the naan... you will not be sorry!

I am new to Indian food, but so far I love it all! I tried a place in Bel Air a couple months ago and liked it, but have been to Bombay Nights a couple times and prefer it over the other place because the food is spicier! Some of the dishes on my second visit were different than my first trip here, so they do change up the menu which makes me want to come back again and again. The buffet is the best way to experience different kinds of Indian food for a low price. I try a little bit of everything each time, but can never remember the names of any of the dishes. My favorite is the green mush with the little white chunks (cheese maybe?) and I put it over rice and it's just delicious! I LOVE their rice pudding and have gotten 3+ bowls of it each time. I wish they had bigger bowls so I wouldn't have to keep getting up to get more! They also had a mango pudding on one of my visits that was really good. The service is friendly and they are on top of the refills of drinks and naan so I can't complain about that!

I can't believe all the glowing reviews here. The food on the buffet was not very good - spicy chicken nuggets and the blandest sauces I have ever experienced. I drove off the highway for 20 minutes so I wouldn't have to eat any of the chains in White Marsh. Monumental disappointment.

I had dinner at this restaurant tonight with my son the chicken was great everyone was so nice I had lamb stew that was sweet and spicy and I have always loved their rice this service is perfect and the atmosphere is more then what I would ask for in a restaurant for dinner

Great weekend buffet, but prices can get a little high with regular dining. Not a huge crowd every time I've been there, but that's because people are so into Chopstix/Liberatore's across the way or afraid of Indian food. For the last time, IT'S NOT ALL SPICY. Second, if you do order a traditionally spicy dish, they can tone it down for you. The mango lassis are great; I highly recommend trying them.

I'm normally not a fan of Indian food, and to be honest I ended up here by mistake, but the food was surprisingly good. The wait staff was a little too friendly, but I figured that was a cultural thing. Although I do feel like they tricked us into ordering extra appetizers. I'd be really mad about that if they weren't so delicious.

First time here, first thing I noticed was the lightning. Very dim in here. Starter: coconut shrimp. 5 piece for $9.99. Two thumbs down. Shrimp looks and taste frozen. Sauce is okay nothing to brag about. Papads were tasteless. Thin wafers served with three different sauces. Sauces were good. Dinner: Chicken Tikka Marsala, AMAZING! Garlic Naan off the hook. Starter not so good. Main course FANTASTIC! Good Service, good main course. I will be back.

Love this place! My girlfriend and I eat here all the time. Chicken tikka masala and chicken vindaloo are our favorites. It's little pricey but totally worth it. They give you really good portions... We both get a meal and have enough for dinner the next night. And now they deliver! Service is awesome, we love Monica! I highly recommend this spot if you like Indian or want to try Indian for the first time.

I have NEVER.. and I mean NEVER been disappointed with this place. From the first time I went there, to now the food is delicious! I've only sat inside one time (my first time there) and I have to say that the service was just as good. Everyone was very polite and I loved it! I order out now-a-days, but it is one of my top 3 spots to order out from here in the White Marsh area. The lamb kadaih is my absolute fave. The lamb is very tender and the sauce and veggies that go in the mix are to die for. I do have to say though, choosing on a scale of how hot you would like your food is a bit tricky. I chose a 6 and was sweating lol However, I could not put my fork down! :) I'm about to order out from this place today and I have to say, my taste buds are screaming with excitement! ;) LOVE this place. A+ from me!

Very good food we ordered the Chicken Tika masala and the chicken vin. We asked for medium however the medium was crazy spicey still loved it can't imagine what the hot would be. Def. pricey but quality food so can't complain to much!

Fantastic all around. Service, food, value. I'd go back again and again. A bit pricey per plate, but that's decent Indian food for you. You pay for quality. Clean, great atmosphere, and if you're on a budget try the lunch buffet!

If you listen to Rosalie who says she drove 20 min from I95, you are likely as lost as she is. It's Indian food. The sauces are all great. For example, most people can only get Tamarind from Indonesia not Carribean, which means less tart. It's no better anywhere. If you want a really large meal ESPECIALLY lunch and don't want to pay a lot for clean good tasty Indian,m this is your place. I don't know about the meat since I only eat fish out.

I'll be the first to admit that when propositioned to eat food that incorporates chicken, yogurt and a blend of "spicy" well.. spices - that I'm the first to stick up my nose. However Bombay is the exception to the rule. The food is delicious, that I make it a point to go there for dinner at least once a week. The prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are super filling. If you don't know what to order, just ask the staff they are very accomodating & the plus side is they have never "steered" me wrong. Tried the "Chicken Saagwalla" last night, which consists of curried chicken cooked with chopped fresh spinach and lightly spiced. It came out looking like green algae but the flavor was emaculate. Don't miss out on this "diamond in the rough" - Aladdin :)

Decent food. Sunday buffet was lackluster however and 4 cups of tea was $12($3 a cup with no refills!) Been there several times and I was disappointed that a Sunday buffet cost $50 (including tip) and none of the good dishes (chicken tikka, chicken curry, or anything I could recognize except rice) were included in the buffet. Second thoughts before returning

Second time here. I was very disappointed in the service. Only four tables full and it took forever. We asked for our check three times while our waiter kept texting on his phone.

Authentic, tasty and fresh food! This is the only Indian restaurant we have found that is awesome enough for us to frequent when we want Indian food! A nice lunch buffet - with a fantastic selection. Dinner has a great menu too. Staff is extremely accommodating to your needs. From suggestions, to remembering what you had on your last visits! This is a very enjoyable place to have an all-around fulfilling dining experience.

The ambiance is nice. Friendly staff and food was good. The only thing I would have liked more was if the entrees had more sauce. Other than that- deliciousness. Chicken tikki masala tasty, but needed more sauce. Garlic naan yummy. Samosas also very good. I will definitely come back.

So good! My sister and her husband had eaten here many times after first trying it with a restaurant.com coupon I gifted them. On a recent trip back East to the mainland, they took me out to dinner at this neighborhood restaurant. The decor was elegant, the setting was intimate, and the service was very good. We ordered and shared vegetarian dishes: chana masala (chickpeas, good protein source, my staple Indian food), malai kofta (like veggie meatballs Indian style of course), and some sort of paneer dish (I forget the name). The food was delicious! I'm salivating at the memories of the dinner as I write this review. I enjoyed the company too! I could see why my sister and her husband decided to have their anniversary dinner there! [Review #15 for 31 Yelps Review Challenge]

I love this place and what I love even more is that I live close enough for them to deliver. Prices are very reasonable, portions are generous and I don't think I've ordered a dish I didn't like. In fact, I am salivating for some garlic naan and samosas right now.

Went there on a Sunday night in a group of 4. The restaurant was pretty empty. The music was playing at a reasonable volume and the ambiance was clean and pleasant. We ordered the mango lassi, mulligatawny soup, tandoori platter, a kashmiri chicken dish, palak paneer, paneer butter masala and an assorted bread basket. We ordered the food to be at a spice level 7. The soup was mediocre. Not too much flavor and too much cornstarch. The mango lassi was good. The food took longer to arrive than your usual Indian restaurant but when it arrived, it was fresh and delicious. Especially all the meat. The meat on the tandoori platter and kashmiri chicken was flavorful and extremely tender. It was falling off the bones. Very well cooked. The veggie paneer dishes could've used some more flavor, we could have gone up in spice level here. The bread basket was good and fresh. Everything comes with rice, so we had way to much rice at the end. Overall, the place gets 4 stars due to the meat dishes. Top of the line Indian food in the area. Probably second only to Darbar in Baltimore city.

Every single dish I've had here has been delicious beyond compare. I could eat here every day. The price is reasonable, the service is excellent, the decor is exotic and soothing... I've ordered take out, and it was just as good. I only wish I had more friends so I could take them all to dinner here and give them more business, cause it's usually empty in the restaurant. This is seriously the best food I've had on the East coast.

The food and atmosphere was wonderful. We've been a few times now & will continue to go to Bombay for dinner. They have a lunch buffet that I'm hoping to try too!

I have only eaten a full meal here twice. Both times were excellent, down to the delish hummus. The buffet here is awesome; don't be afraid to try it. However, what I am really writing about here is their tamatar shorba, which I send my husband out for every weekend. This stuff is literally my favorite food on earth. Creamy, sweet tomatoey, perfect. I do have a couple of gripes, though. WHY do they refuse to offer a bigger size? And, the fact that they are not open for takeout between lunch and dinner is kind of a pain in the butt if you are out running errands and want to pick up something for dinner.

Love, love, love Bombay Nights!! The food is super flavorful, prices are good and the environment is cozy and inviting. The staff is very friendly. But on a busy night, you might be waiting a little while for table service (meaning drink refills and check). I don't mind waiting for good, quality food. Beware of ordering your food spicy....I love spicy food, but their take on spicy kicks it up a few notches (go with medium if you are daring)! Will definitely be back....often! OH! AND IT'S BYOB. need I say more!!

You cannot go wrong here. Excellent food and first class service, every time! We started with the Ragra Patties - perfectly done over a bed of chick peas. I had the Silky Chicken (NOM NOM) and my wife had Lamb Coconut. We finished with the Saffron Ice Cream - DELICIOUS even though it was lightly sprinkled with coconut which I don't like. We're always thrilled with the service and the food is top quality for such a reasonably priced place. Pick up a bottle of your favorite across the street before you come here.

We came across this place while visiting another restaurant we love in the area and figured we would try it out. We were greeted by the hostess and immediately seated. Yet, after waiting awhile, by the time the waitress came we were ready to order everything. I personally like to order after drinks and settling in. I had the chicken vindaloo and found that it was not as spicy as other places I have been to and I asked for a spice level of 7-8. My wife ordered the goat vindaloo and agreed the spice level was not as hot as other places. Otherwise, the service was great and we enjoyed our quick stop of a meal. I recommend it but it was not our personal favorite.

Yum!/Eh... I was craving Indian food so I yelped places nearby my hotel (since I'm in MD for business). My friend and I called in an order for the shrimp biryani and a Bombay naan. The Bombay naan dough had nuts, chicken, and herbs mixed in and it was really delicious. We opted for medium spicy shrimp biryani and I'm glad we went with medium because it was still pretty spicy (and I am great at handling spicy food). The shrimp was tender and flavored perfectly (though scarce throughout the rice - maybe 6 pieces in a huge tub). The rice came with a really fresh cucumber raita that was a perfect accompaniment and helped cool down the rice and tone down the spice. The meal was really delicious and the prices were really right. The two of us were left stuffed for a meal that was less than $10 per person. For our second visit, the same friend and I called in for an order of shrimp vindaloo and a side of red onion chutney. We were really surprised and semi-disgusted when we opened up our take out bag to find a radioactive red-colored tub of shrimp vindaloo and an equally radioactive red-colored tub of red onion chutney. The color was so bright and unnatural that it was sort of off-putting. The 4 or 5 shrimp in the portion ended up being really tough and chewy - it was definitely overcooked - and there were only a few pieces of potato and the sauce was so watery - enough that the dish just seemed like a bowl of soup. The rice that accompanied the meal was a bit dry but flavorful and probably my favorite part of the meal - which is saying a lot. The red onion chutney tasted fine, but again, the color was so off-putting. I guess next time I'll listen to the reviews and order the butter chicken. I'd like to dine in at some point because it's a really cute looking place, well-decorated and spacious. I think they have belly-dancing on certain days as well.

We went for a dinner with 3 other families. The food is really good and so is the service. We tried the tandoori chicken and its was awesome. The recommendations given by the guy who was taking the order were good. We will definitly come back. It is a BYOB so carry the drink of your choice.

Great place to eat. Staff is excellent and the chef is fantastic. I bring all our out of town guests here and we have a great time every time. Go across the street to Honeygo wine and spirits and grab a bottle of wine and bring it in to Bombay for a fabulous, authentic Indian dinner!

I had been to Bombay Nights a few times and was never blown away with the food or service. This past Friday, my fiance and I were craving Indian food and decided to give it another try. What a mistake! They had a buffet which was $11.99 per person, not bad. It was very disappointing- everything tasted the same. Even more disappointing was the service. No one even asked what we wanted to drink! It took forever to get the check and when we did, it was erroneous and we waited forever again to get it fixed. Bottom line- mediocre Indian food, HORRIBLE service. We will not be back. For great Indian food not too far from here, check out Sizzling Bombay in Bel Air. The food is much more authentic, flavorful, and unique and the service is top notch!

visited this place on a sunday night with a few people and it was my first time there. we tried the ragraa patties and veggie samosas as appetizers along with some garlic naan with hummus and raita. dinner entrees were the kabob platter, chicken tikka masala, chicken korma kashmiri, and vindaloo. everything was hot, tasty, and perfectly spiced according to our specifications. i told the server that i wanted my masala spicier than medium but not super spicy. she suggested level 7 and it was perfect. the service was good although a little hectic because there were three people taking care of our table. i shouldn't complain though because our water stayed refilled and all the food came out quick. i also thought it was very affordable and we all took leftovers home. it's byob which i love because it's cheaper and easier to bring whatever i'm in the mood for. there happens to be an excellent liquor store across from the restaurant with a huge wine selection and an entire walk in filled with cold beer, cider, crafts, etc. this place is definitely worth a visit. try the papad appetizer! $2 for little crunchy, flavorful deliciousness! can't wait to come back & try the buffet!

Dropped in with my group this past Saturday for lunch. We decided to go with the lunch buffet so we could try different foods. There is alot to choose from, so you definitely will be full before you leave. I've always been a fan of naan bread... we received a basket of warm and fresh naan- I think I ate about four of those! Can't say I remember the name of anything I ate, but I the food was composed mostly of ate mostly a variety of chickpea dishes, chicken, and potatoes in different sauces and curry. Everything was good... I didn't try everything, because I'm not that adventurous, but pretty much everything I ate was delicious! Service was very friendly. Buffet prices were extremely reasonable. Odd that there was a small personal heater near our table, but I'm always cold so that was the best odd thing ever. lol. Also this place had a nice amount of people there for lunch, althought its pretty small but it didn't feel like it. Must be popular to the locals. I live nowhere close to this place, but the next time I'm in the area, I'd definitely go back!

I can sum up Indian restaurants in three words: dark, dirty, and stinky. Bombay nights is anything but... from the moment you walk in this place you know your in a clean, well maintained establishment with a friendly staff and sleak decor. The food is top notch... I've probably eaten here at least 60 times since they've opened their doors and I've NEVER had a bad experience. I've also ordered most of the menu and can honestly say that if your looking for quality Indian cuisine you need look no further. Ample parking... attentive staff... fresh ingredients... what else can you ask for. By far one of my favorite restaurants in Maryland. I wont go anywhere else for Indian.

THE FOOD IS MUCH BELOW NORMAL INDIAN FOOD STANDARD! DECOR: The interior is is not at all Indian. It looks like a Belly Dancing night club. Very middle-eastern decoration. FOOD: We ordered CHICKEN BIRYANI, TANDOORI CHICKEN and NAAN. All the three items were tasteless. I have had much better Indian food at other restaurants in Baltimore. The chicken was not well marinated or cooked. The left-over tasted awful when I warmed it the next day morning. This clearly indicated that the meat was not fresh. The portions were enough for two people. The complementary salad that was served was stale. For each dessert item we asked, they replied, "we do not have it". That was pretty disappointing. Why do they even put that in the Menu, if they don't have it in their kitchen. SERVICE: I went there on a Friday night and the restaurant had just 3 more couples. There is a Woman who welcomes you when you enter. She seemed pretty arrogant and unfriendly. Infact we had gone there earlier too, on a Saturday. But, we had to come back since there was some private party that was going on inside. The restaurant was completely booked for that. PRICE: We spent around $ 45 (including tips). The food did not justify the price at all and I deeply regret for having gone there. This place is often reserved for private Birthday Party's and on those days, they do not entertain regular walk-ins. PLEASE CALL IN AND CHECK BEFORE GOING TO BOMBAY NIGHTS! I am not going in here ever again.

My friend and I were looking for a relaxing dinner on Friday night. I wanted something cozy, so I suggested Indian. Being that we already went to Cafe Spice and India Palace, we needed something different. I found Bombay Nights on yelp and figured it would be worth a try. We arrived around 8pm. The place wasn't too crowded, so we were able to get a table. The service was slow.....like wow.....I felt my life pass me by. It probably took us almost 20 minutes just to order We started off with the vegetable samosas. They were pretty standard in flavor, but huge in size. It is hard not to love deep fried spicy potatoes and peas. The samosas at Bombay Nights also had lentils inside, which was a pleasant surprise. We totally underestimated the portions here and ordered a ginormous bounty. The garlic naan was chewy, warm, and tasty. It went well with the chicken tikka masala. The chicken tikka masala was a bit 'fruitier' than what I am used to, but the chicken pieces were plentiful and there was a bounty of sauce. We also ordered the chicken vindaloo, which was HOT HOT HOT. We expected that, but wowza! The potatoes in the chicken vindaloo helped a little, but I wouldn't order it again. I bought a restaurant.com coupon for this place, so I shall return. It is a nice place to go before a movie at The Avenue.
